I’m so chuffed to have been asked to play at the new Trowbridge Festival on 22nd July. I worked my socks off as a crew member (setting it all up in time for the punters to arrive) at the old Village Pump Festival at the same location - Stowford Manor Farm - for about 17 years, and got rewarded with a few gigs on the minor stages (some with Barrelhouse Blues). Great, great memories, and it’ll be a real joy to play as a part of this new venture.. Trouble is, I’m playing at the Upton Blues Festival the same weekend! So it’ll be a mad dash in the campervan down to Trowbridge on the Sunday morning!

Just got back from a very enjoyable but rather eventful weekend at The Acoustic Festival of Britain at Uttoxeter Racecourse. I was booked for a spot in the Blues Tent on the Friday, but got asked to do a spot on the much bigger Real Ale Tent stage on the Thursday. That went really well, but the Friday gig started with a split fingernail, which then dug into the rather sensitive flesh underneath! Not a great set, but I got the nail replaced in the town on the Saturday morning, and got asked to do another set on the Sunday. Not many people there, but I sort of redeemed myself!

The good bit is that - as a result - I’m now booked to play at the Brecon Jazz/ Fringe Festival in August!
