Four very nice people were chatting to me after a gig at THE BARGE, HONEYSTREET, and asked if I knew much about CAJUN MUSIC. It occurred to me that—just as the STORY OF THE BLUES SECTION on this website has proven interesting to lots of people, then a bit about Cajun might do the same. Have a look—see what you think. |

Just had confirmation that I’ll be at Swanage Blues Festival 3-5 October. I’ll be helping Jim Tigwell and Martin Froud with the open mic sessions at the Red Lion, and running another session at the Corner Cafe. Details are still to be confirmed—see the Festival website for details as soon as they are available. |
I’m still having great fun playing my new (!) 1928 National guitar. See the GUITARS section for details. |
The following weekend, I’m going back to my old home town of Aldeburgh in Suffolk, for a 40th school reunion, and a couple of gigs while I’m up there. I just love Aldeburgh. |
Just heard that the Charity Ball at Civic Hall, Trowbridge raised over £8000 for the Forever Friends Appeal. So glad to have been able to make my little contribution. |
Finally had a great rain-free Trowbridge Village Pump Festival at the end of July. I had a brief spot on Stage 3 on Sunday, but will mostly remember it for some memorable music: especially from LittleFeat, Martin Harley and—of course—Richard Thompson. |

I’m seriously thinking of recording a new album, after a chat with a young chap called Dominic Bailey, who has just opened a recording studio. It’s years since I put my stuff down on record, and I’ve learned so many new songs. If anyone has any favourites they’d like to hear—mail me on andrewbazeley@yahoo.com. |
